We’re supposed to be moving in two weeks. Went to the house Sunday and the island is TWENTY INCHES closer to the door than in the model. Somebody screwed up and they have to fix it (probably means removing tile, tearing the island down, then rebuilding it, but I’m no contractor so I don’t really know how it’ll be done). It probably wouldn’t be a huge deal if it was a small island, but this thing is massive, like 6-feet massive. Final walkthrough is supposed to be tomorrow, and closing is supposed to be Monday, so we’ll have to wait and see what actually happens.

In the meantime, I’ve been gathering decor ideas for months. Honestly, I’ve been more excited about decorating my home office space than my bedroom. So, I figured I’d share my little Pinterest board with you. The color scheme for my office should be fairly apparent, and I did actually buy the gold and white shelves (I couldn’t pass them up for the price compared to other places).

I know the space will dictate itself, so I didn’t want to get too much before moving in. I’m excited to see how it all turns out. Especially since I bought a big comfy chair last year that is still in its factory packaging. I bought it before we moved (when my mom was thinking about not selling the house) and it didn’t get delivered until August, so it’s been in storage since it got delivered and I hope there are no defects because that return window is shut.

Anyway, I’ll update you in a few weeks once we’ve moved and the space is situated. There may be a decorating video, but we’ll see how that feels. I’ve been in a weird space and particularly adamant about not becoming a “content creator” or “influencer.”
